'Daddy, you're the best maker in the whole wide world. But not mommy though.' - after receiving macaroni and cheese from the box from Scott.
'Kiley, no you can't have any more of those. I like the enthusiasm though.'- after deciding Kiley couldn't have any more grapes, and after hearing his mom sarcasticlly mumble this under her breath a few too many times.
'Ah, my f*cking hand!' - after banging his hand on the door and most likely after hearing his dad mumble this under his breath a few too many times.
'Mommy, look at all those school buses!'
'Yeah, maybe they are going on a field trip. Jaxon, do you know what a field trip is?'
'Yeah. They take the kids into the woods to look for stuff.'
'Mommy, are you always going to be here? Are you always going to be my mommy?'
'Of course I am Jaxon.'
'So I'm not going to get a new mommy?'
'No, is that okay?'
'Yeah, because I love you and I want you to always be my mommy.'

success!
Emergency rooms. Urgent Care. Medical bills. Rashes and fevers.
Words that describe our typical trips to Fargo.
I had the nebulizer packed. Extra benadryl and claritin. Anti-itch creams stowed away.
But. Not this weekend.
Thanks to some heavy duty cleaning and quarantined dogs (THANK YOU mom and dad), we had an allergy and medically free weekend in Fargo!
Success!
It started off with some goofing around at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Zoe got a nice big hug from Jaxon who wouldn't let go.
On Saturday we went to my grandma Barb's 80th birthday party. Can you imagine turning 80? And all the wonderful memories and stories you'd have along with you?
Kiley turned out to be in one of her better moods and was a real charmer all weekend. Even here, she got me to let her eat my fingers and since she's so dang cute, I just let her.
We had so much fun celebrating Grandma Barb's 80 young years! Happy Birthday Grandma!

Somehow I got Jaxon to wear a nice new shirt so we thought we'd try to get some family pictures. I guess he's going through that stage of not cooperating with pictures. I hope that ends soon!
Scott ended up pulling Jaxon's hair and making him cry all in the guise of trying to get him to smile at the camera.Kiley turned out to be in one of her better moods and was a real charmer all weekend. Even here, she got me to let her eat my fingers and since she's so dang cute, I just let her.

cute little tantrums
I know it looked a little mangy...
And I know it probably got in her eyes every day....
And I never could quite figure out how to put in the cute little headbands...
So, we finally did it. We got Kiley's hair cut.
And it clearly went much better than the first year and a half of Jaxon getting his hair cut. He screamed and cried every time we went and then was fine after he got his sucker.
Kiley was perfectly content playing peek-a-boo with her sucker under the cape while the stylist cut her hair and put it in this cute little ponytail for her.
But, she didn't leave without throwing a slight tantrum. As soon as we took away the colors and told her it was time to go, she pitched a fit.
Girl knows what she wants. And when she wants it. And she just really wanted to color. At least she looked cute and all styled up when she threw her tantrum.

snow day
Hard to believe it is March 4, and this was our first time heading out into the snow for sledding and throwing snowballs! But, I figured since there was about and inch or two on the ground and it was decent weather, we needed to embrace it! Especially since the forecast calls for upper 40's and low 50's this week!
It was fun to feel like a kid again, sledding and running up the hill. Of course I was a little more out of breath than I probably was as a kid...
Jaxon thought he was the king of the hill, even though it was really only about a foot high..
You can't see it, but his snowball is really only like pea sized. But he threw it like a champ.
Only thing we were missing was some hot chocolate and Scott- he was off playing basketball and leading his team to the championship playoff game (okay, that was slightly embellished but it is his birthday, so let's just let him think he's the king of the hill too).
Happy snow day to you and a big happy birthday to my one and only. Love you honiez.
